My five year old got glasses last year, and when she started Kindergarten this fall, we had to go to the Optical shop almost weekly to get new frames or replacement glasses when she broke/lost/scratched her glasses. Her teacher recommended some sort of band, but the elastic ones required that you attach them every time you put the glasses on, and the metal springs that held the silicone loops to her glasses hurt her head. I found these are few weeks ago, and have not had a single problem with her glasses since (I'm even considering the nicer frames next time) The tension cord is easy to tighten, and helps the glasses stay on her face comfortably, so she isn't pushing them up constantly, and therefore is not as apt to take them off and leave/step on them. This is great on many levels, because she could outgrow her vision issues if she wears her glasses consistently, which she does now.
